Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years with Secondary education or 3 years of experience with a University Degree of continuous clinical experience in nursing preferably in a multicultural environment;
• Intensive Care and health administration. Supervisory experience in a UN field operation is an asset. Knowledge and understanding of relevant UN administrative policies and procedures are desirable.
• Experience in Trauma and Emergency care is desirable;
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is desirable.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in oral and written English; knowledge of other official UN languages is an advantage. Knowledge of the local language (Hausa) is highly desirable.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, including network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, data management, knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the rule of law, justice and human rights sector.
• Experience in engaging and working with law enforcement and political institutions including the Nigeria Police Force and related institutions.
• Proven experience in result-based reporting, public relations/communication. Prior experience in monitoring and evaluation is an asset.
• Experience managing complex relationship at federal, state and community levels.
• Proficiency in usage of computers, office software packages and advanced project management software as well as in the handling of web-based management systems.
• Experience working with UNDP/UN is an asset.

Language requirements:

• A Master’s Degree or higher in Forestry, Forest Sciences, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Social Science, Economics, Finance or related fields.

Required Experience:

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in the forestry sector and/or relevant policy advisory experience for bilateral and/or international development organization.
• Technical knowledge of sustainable forest management, timber trade and markets, incl. value chains and timber pricing in tropical woods, taxation and transfer pricing in the forestry sector required.
• Experience working in one or more developing countries required.

Desired Experience:

• Working experience with ministries, national institutions and forestry sector on national and local level in Papua New Guinea is a strong asset;
• Strong drafting, presentation and reporting skills will be an advantage;
• Experience working with UN agencies, partners, governments and/or civil society on forestry issues will be an advantage.
