Kenya InterswitchSPAK 3.0 National Science Competition 2027 – We wish to inform the General Public, Parents, Principals, Teachers, Students, etc that the 2026/2027 InterswitchSPAK Kenya Version 3.0 registration IS NOW IN PROGRESS. InterswitchSPAK Kenya Version 3.0 IS LIVE, and Schools can now register up to TEN (10) students. Registration of your students is open till 11:59 pm, Wednesday, 1st June 2027, and it’s free.
InterswitchSPAK Objectives
- To arouse and sustain keen interest in the study of STEM in high schools across Africa.
- To raise the standard of STEM education and reward excellence with educational grants through an unbiased competition that would promote sound education in Africa.
- To create a vehicle that is genuinely interested in the growth, development, and well-being of African students and teachers through various interventions, including scholarship schemes for outstanding STEM students.
There are two main levels of the competition.
ROUND ONE: WRITTEN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION
This stage is in two parts;
2. The second part: After the first round examination, the Top 500, selected across all states, will proceed to the second stage of the competition. The best 54 students from this stage will then proceed to Stage Two (TV Quiz show) of the competition. Each school is to prepare its representatives for the qualifying test in four subjects- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
ROUND TWO: TV QUIZ COMPETITION
The best 54 students (with the highest scores) out of those who wrote the regional qualifying test will be invited to participate at this stage of the competition, which includes the InterswitchSPAK Masterclass. This will be recorded and transmitted on Television across Kenya.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE

- Registration to participate is strictly online via www.interswitchspak.com or via https://kenya.interswitchspak.com/
- Each School is required to present its BEST six (6) students in Science in form three (3) regardless of Sex, religion, tribe, or Region
- Mixed schools are required to have at least three female students among the six 6, which would represent them
- Every student will participate in the qualifying test at any of the test centres across Kenya
- The top 54 students will proceed to the competition to battle for the crown of Kenya’s best science student.
RULES AND REGULATIONS

- The InterswitchSPAK Online CBT exams will be held on Thursday, 9th June to Saturday, 11th June 2027 across Kenya.
- Latecomers will not be allowed to write the test.
- NO CALCULATORS WILL BE ALLOWED.
- Students must conduct themselves in an orderly manner. Any act of misconduct will lead to the disqualification of the student.
- All students MUST come to the test venue in their School Uniform.
- The decision of the organizers/MOE is final and we shall not enter into any correspondence with anyone regarding the conduct of this test.
PRIZE LIST
1. First Prize
Five (5) years University Scholarship worth -Ksh 1,500,000 + annual stipend (T&C) + Laptop + Signage for the school + Certificate of participation.
2. Second Prize
Three (3) years University Scholarship worth KSh 750,000 + annual stipend (T&C) + Laptop + Signage for the school + Certificate of participation.
3. Third Prize
One (1) year University Scholarship worth Ksh 150,000 + annual stipend (T&C) + Laptop + Signage for the school + Certificate of participation.
NOTE:
- Registration of your students is open till 11:59 pm June 1st, 2027, and it’s free.
- Schools are now allowed to register up to ten (10) SS2 Science Students each
- Online CBT exams will be held on Thursday, 6th June to Saturday, 11th June 2027
- You don’t need to travel to write the qualifying examination. The Examination is fully online and can be written in your school, home, or any convenient space.
- You have a choice of three (3) days to pick from (between 10 am -6 pm) to write the examination.
- A school can register up to 10 students. Each School can only register a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of ten (10) Students in form three (3), regardless of Sex, religion, tribe, or Region
- Mixed schools are required to have at least three female students among the six 6 that would represent them.
- The first Part: All the registered candidates on the platform, based on the time and date specified by the organizer, are expected to participate in this round of the competition.
- The second part: After the first round examination, the Top 500, selected across all states, will proceed to the second stage of the online qualifying test. The best 54 students from this stage will then proceed to Stage Two (TV Quiz show) of the competition.
- a. The examination will happen within 2days (8hours per day). Students can choose anytime between the two days allocated for the examination, provided the period is available.
- b. Each student on the platform will have a 5-minute demo session to get acquainted with the platform before taking the test.
- c. All registered students will have 2 chances of writing the CBT, and the system will pick the better of the two scores.
