Following the strike action declared by teachers at the pre-tertiary institutions in the country, many school children end up in school without any lesson taught. The teachers have declared an indefinite strike pending a notice from government willing to pay their Cost of living allowances(COLA) to them.
FixTheCountry movement have also reacted to this and have given their full support to the Ghanaian teachers. In their recent press release dated 6th July, the FixTheCountry movement believe that teachers deserve better conditions of service. They urged the government to do the needful and provide them with what they want because the income levels of Ghanaian teachers are far low.

He urged parents whose children have been affected by the strike to also support the teachers. They believe that teachers will always have a sound mind to teach their wards when they have better financial records.
“We encourage parents and students to stand in solidarity with teachers whose welfare/wellbeing is essential to doing their work very well. We call on all labour unions, civil society organizations, social movements and the general citizenry to support teachers’ demand for the payment of their COLA”
