FAQs

What is the BAT Global Graduate Program (West Africa)?

The BAT Global Graduate Program (West Africa) is a structured graduate-trainee initiative designed to groom fresh graduates and early-career professionals into future leaders of BAT. It typically involves a rotational placement (across operations, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, etc.) so you gain broad exposure to different functional areas.
Participants also benefit from global-level training — including a “Graduate Academy” which brings together trainees worldwide for leadership development and cross-geographical networking.

Who is eligible to apply for the 2026 Global Graduate Program?

Some of the common eligibility criteria (from previous BAT West Africa graduate intakes) include: Must hold a bachelor’s degree (often in Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain, or Quality — depending on the track) with a strong academic record.

Completed the compulsory service requirement (in Nigeria’s context: the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)).

Must have no more than 2–3 years of post-graduate/professional experience.

Strong communication skills in English (some past intakes have valued knowledge of French as an advantage).

Demonstrated leadership potential, e.g. through extra-curricular activities, problem-solving mindset, agility, ability to work in fast-paced environments, initiative, and possibly mobility (national/international).

What can you expect from the program? What do participants get?

Right from day one: a “real job” — participants are employed (not just interns) and contribute meaningfully.

Rotational exposure across functional areas: manufacturing, supply-chain planning, procurement, logistics, possibly marketing or product-innovation, depending on assignment. This helps you understand the business end-to-end.

A comprehensive training and development path: including access to online learning platforms, personalised growth programmes, and global-level mentorship/coaching.

Attractive compensation and benefits: competitive salary, performance bonuses (subject to eligibility), health plans and other employee benefits as per market.

Opportunity to progress quickly: for high-performing participants, the program is intended as a “fast-track” to management-level roles in a relatively short period (for past cohorts, some sources say 12 months, others 18 months).

How and when should I apply if I’m interested in the 2026 intake?

Monitor the official BAT careers site (or the regional site for West & Central Africa) for the announcement of the 2026 intake — job posts are usually listed under “Global Graduate Programme / Operations”.

Ensure you meet eligibility: your degree, NYSC/completed service, recent graduation (within the last 2–3 years), and other requirements (e.g. English proficiency, mobility, leadership potential).

Prepare a strong application / CV highlighting academic performance, relevant coursework, extra-curricular leadership or initiatives, any involvement in supply-chain / operations (if any), and readiness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Apply online when the job is posted — there’s no widely publicized fixed date for 2026 yet, so it’s recommended to check regularly and apply as early as possible.
