The UMYU 2nd Round Post-UTME Aptitude Test online registration will commence on Wednesday 30th March, 2026.
The management of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, wishes to inform the general public that the National Universities Commission has approved the establishment of fourteen (14) new programmes in the university as follows:

- Forestry and Wildlife Management (B. Forestry)
- Integrated Science (B.Sc. (Ed.))
- Business Studies Education (B.Sc. (Ed.))
- Primary Education Studies (B.A. (Ed.))
- Early Childhood Education (B.A. (Ed.))
- Special Education (B.A. (Ed.))
- Computer Science Education(B.Sc. (Ed.))
- International Relations (B.Sc.)
- Environmental Management (B.Sc.)
- Local Government and Developmental Studies (B.Sc.)
- Meteorology (B.Sc.)
- Agricultural Science B. Agric)
- Fisheries and Aquaculture (B. Fisheries)
Accordingly, the university wishes to invite qualified candidates who sat for the year 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and who wish to be considered for admission into any of the programmes listed above to make (UMYU) their first choice institution and choose the relevant course. Candidates who have successfully chosen UMYU as first choice for any of the courses should register for post UTME immediately via the university website www.umyu.edu.ng.
Please note that candidates applying for the MBBS programme through the year 2021 UTME should be indigenes of Katsina State who must have scored not less than 200 in the 2021 UTME.
Candidates who registered for the year 2026 UTME or Direct Entry can also apply for a change of institution/course through JAMB, and their application will be considered at the appropriate time.
All candidates are to note that they may be subjected to post UTME Aptitude Test/Screening and are advised to be checking the university’s website for updates.
Interested applicants are hereby advised to ensure that they meet the minimum requirements, including cut off marks for their programme of choice. Information regarding the requirements for each programme is available on the website.
UMYU 2026/2027 Post-UTME ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the screening and aptitude test, a candidate must have:

- Scored a minimum of 130 marks and above in the 2021 UTME examination;
- Obtained a minimum of five (5) relevant credits at O-level (including English and Mathematics);

- Sat for the relevant UTME subject combination in the 2021 JAMB examination;
- Candidates who have registered for the aptitude but have missed the first Test are now eligible to participate in the upcoming second Test.
- Similarly, those candidates whose first choice remains Umaru Musa Yar’adua University but did not register for the Aptitude Test are also eligible to participate in the exercise.
- Candidates wishing to change their first choice of Institutions to Umaru Musa Yar’adua University can do so through JAMB-authorised outlets and register for the second 2021 Aptitude Test and thereafter participate in the exercise.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Eligible candidates are to pay the sum of N2,000.00 only for the screening and aptitude test through the payment options provided on the University’s Application Portal.
Eligible candidates are to upload the following documents on the University’s website.
- JAMB Result Slip for UTME candidates
- O-Level Result;
- Form of identification (Indigene Letter, National Identification Card/International Passport, etc);
SCREENING SCHEDULE
- Post-UTME Screening Exercise shall be conducted in a manner devoid of exposure to the dreaded COVID-19.
- ALL candidates are to come along wearing face masks, and they would be subjected to temperature tests, hand washing and application of hand sanitiser.
- Candidates are to come along with the payment slip for the screening and aptitude test.
- Please note that all visually impaired candidates are exempt from the Post-UTME aptitude test.
- Those candidates intending to write the aptitude test are to come with their JAMB registration slip containing their photographs and indicating their respective courses, institutions of choice, and a UMYU Post-UTME registration slip.
- Candidates are to bring a copy of their O-level results with their JAMB registration number boldly written on the results and submit the same at the point of entry into the examination hall.
