FAQs

1. What is JUPEB, and how does it work at OAU?

JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board) is a one-year advanced-level programme that allows candidates to gain Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and other JUPEB-affiliated universities after successful completion.

2. Who is eligible to apply for OAU JUPEB 2026/2027?

Applicants must have at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings. Subject requirements depend on the intended course of study, and candidates awaiting results may also apply.

3. Does OAU JUPEB guarantee admission into OAU?

Successful JUPEB candidates are eligible for Direct Entry admission, but admission into OAU depends on meeting the required JUPEB grades, course cut-off points, and available spaces. JUPEB does not require UTME.

4. How long is the OAU JUPEB programme, and when does admission start?

The OAU JUPEB programme runs for one academic session (about 9–10 months). Admission for the 2026/2027 session usually begins in the first half of the year, and applicants are advised to apply early through the official OAU JUPEB portal.
