Requirements for Nigerian National Committee Scholarship

1. Be Nigerian. (Non-Nigerians resident in Nigeria may apply either through their own national committees or directly to individual UWCs through the Global Selection Programme).

2. Be between the ages of 16 and 17.

3. Have shown outstanding academic ability.

4. Have gotten the Senior School Certificate– SSCE/GCE O’ Levels or their recognised equivalent. (Exceptional students in SS3 may apply based on their 2 years of continuous assessment as evidenced by their school transcripts)

Process and Venue for Scholarship

In the past, shortlisted candidates have been invited for a rigorous selection exercise at the Sea School, Apapa, Lagos.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Committee will monitor the situation carefully and determine the most appropriate way to conduct the selection exercise in December 2026 to safeguard the lives and health of the participants.
